Sopron Tunnel

The Sopron Tunnel comprises two parallel bores, each approximately 780 m long, forming part of the M85 expressway bypass between Sopron and the Austrian border. Structural works were completed in 2024, and the tunnel was officially opened to traffic on 14 December 2024. It is part of a 4.2 km four-lane bypass section designed to relieve urban congestion and enhance cross-border connectivity.
