Hranjen Tunnel

The Hranjen Tunnel, at 5.5 km, is set to be the longest road tunnel in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It forms a central part of the Praca–Gorazde expressway (18.4 km) and substantially reduces the road distance between Sarajevo and Goražde — from 96 km to 56 km. The construction employs the New Austrian Tunneling Method (NATM) with features including a service tunnel, pedestrian evacuation passages, emergency vehicle access and breakdown parking recesses.
